Dániel Barnabás Laczó

CEO - UAE Solutions

Welcome – and thank you for your trust and interest in getting to know who I am. ☺

My name is Dániel Barnabás Laczó, and I turned 40 in April 2024. I come from a family with roots in Békéscsaba, Hungary, and I have lived in the USA for several years — in Los Angeles between the ages of 14 and 16, in Arizona at 20, and later in Miami at 21. Since 2012, I have been based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

I began my career as a Business Development Manager, overseeing 16 countries across Europe and the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). I have worked for a NASDAQ-listed multinational company as well as the “Startup of the Year” in the Middle East. A defining milestone in my career was my role as Regional Business Development Director at Careem, where I was part of the record-breaking $3.1 billion UBER acquisition in 2019.

The UAE-Solutions brand was founded together with our Operations Director, Zsófi, before I joined Careem in 2015 — she has played an invaluable role in scaling the company. Over the years, I have built significant business relationships and lasting friendships.

After my years at Careem and following the UBER acquisition, I became co-founder of Billingo.hu in 2019, Hungary’s leading SME multi-platform, which today serves nearly 200,000 corporate users. In 2021, I co-founded Swapp (www.joinswapp.com), a disruptive car subscription marketplace in the UAE, which has been integrated into the Careem app for two years now, reaching an annual gross revenue of over USD 15 million. I no longer hold an active operational role in these startups — my full time and passion are now dedicated to UAE-Solutions.

If you are interested in Dubai, I would be delighted to have an online conversation with you — to share my personal experiences here and to discuss the opportunities that might be waiting for you.
